Sheet in hand, Christian L’Aondre, the emblematic president of Saint-Florent, wanted to open this extraordinary general assembly of this Tuesday, May 6 by a speech which he had carefully prepared. On the menu of the day, the vote of the new statutes of the association intended for this upcoming group with the Niortais chamois, an essential step before going further. “Today, it is an important page in our common history that we write”, The Saint-Florentais president started, in front of around fifty people gathered in the clubhouse.
“The rapprochement between Saint-Florent and the Niortais Chamois is not only sportsman. It is also the meeting between two historicals, two heritage deeply rooted on the territory ”, continues the Yondre, anxious to reassure, too. “The values of Saint-Florent will not be lost or forgotten. But it would also be unfair, not to look at the history of chamois. It is a club which, after having known the lights, has been found in darkness but which is still there. They deserve our attention. This rapprochement is not a loss of identity but an alliance to be stronger, more ambitious and more united. An alliance where everyone will have their place ”he continued.
“We are building something good”
Present by his side, Florimond Labulle, who has long carried out a project to take over Chamois, speaks in turn. “The first time I met Christian, the current has immediately passed, because we are aligned with the values. For the past two or three months, we have been working actively together and it’s going very well. I feel that we are building something good ”, evokes the original Vendée entrepreneur, who also wanted to be reassuring about the future.
“I am new in this environment but I was amazed at certain things, because we have been attacked on both sides. I have no concerns about the future, the signals are very positive ”he said, also evoking support from the town hall and the departmental council “Beyond expectations”.
-The statutes, they have logically and rather quickly voted (82 voters in total) for what is one more step after the presentation of this project to the press on March 25. On the administrative level, the name retained for this new association affiliated with the FFF – and whose head office will be located at the Massujat stadium – is union Saint -Florent Chamois Niortais (USFNC), with a desire to mark the union between the two clubs.
Birth of Chamois Niortais Saint-Flo
On the more marketing level, the brand will be carried by the name Chamois Niortais Saint-Flo, just to have the contribution of the historic weight of the Chamois, more carrier in Deux-Sèvres but also beyond. Another clarification made in the evening: the future board of directors will be made up of 10 to 21 members, elected during a next general meeting scheduled for September. “The idea is to integrate chamois people into the board of directors”, Add Florimond Labulle.
Until then, a press conference has been scheduled for June 2 to present the new logo as well as the graphic charter, while an official website is under construction. The final stages, in a way, before the big launch.
An upcoming equipment manufacturer
Traditionally equipped by the Errea brand, Saint-Florent will change equipment manufacturer with this rapprochement with the Chamois. It is, in fact, the equipment supplier Macron who will take over, notably offering “more female products” than its potential competitors.
