The Civil Society of French Publishers (SCELF) and the film market unveiled the 12 works present during the 12ᵉ edition of Shoot the Book ! The event, which links film producers and literature publishers, will thus include nine books published by French publishing houses, a majority.
Selected for their high adaptation potential, in genres as varied as comics, thriller, novel or test, these projects will be presented on May 15 during a pitch session at the Palais des Festivals.
« Shoot The Book! is a historic and strategic program of the film market. Philippe Robinetpresident of the SCELF, underlines the growing importance of this device: ” For 12 years, shoot The Book! plays a key role in the structuring of a real global adaptation ecosystem. According to a joint study of the CNL, the CNC and the SCELF, films from literary works record an average of 32 % additional rooms in theaters compared to the original films.
