On the occasion of the celebration of the Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a ceremony was recently held at the Higher Institute of Audiovisual and Cinema Professions (ISMAC) in Rabat.

Speaking on this occasion, the director of ISMAC, Hakim Bel Abbès expressed his warm thanks to Ms. Saulekul Sailaukyzy, the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Kingdom of Morocco for having chosen the institute for the organization of this commemorative event and welcomed the strong presence of distinguished guests. He was also delighted that this great school dedicated to the seventh art and the audiovisual sector is hosting one of the important events, playing a major role in bringing people together, with a diplomatic and artistic dimension making audiovisual creativity accessible. to others, especially young students.

In her welcome speech, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan expressed her joy in organizing this ceremony, marking the anniversary of her country’s independence, at ISMAC with the screening of a documentary on an event marking the celebrating the independence of his country. And this, in the presence of ambassadors and diplomats, eminent personalities and students of the institute, which, she emphasizes, offers them the opportunity to discover her country and its enormous potential and great assets with which it is full. . After reviewing the major events of regional and international dimensions that this large Central Asian country has chaired and hosted, including that of the Nomad Games organized in the capital Astana with the participation of 89 countries and more than 2,500 athletes, the diplomat Kazakh president emphasized the diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and Morocco, which she described as strong, fraternal and exemplary. Ms. Saulekul Saulaikyzy said that economic relations between the two countries continue to grow, revealing to this effect that the figures for trade relations increased from 167.2 million dollars in 2023 to 218.9 million dollars. dollars in 2024, with an increase of 23%. Figures, she affirms, are expected to multiply further in the coming years.

The ambassador also recalled the meeting held last September, on the sidelines of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly, which took place between the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mr. Murat Nurtleu, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans living abroad of the Kingdom of Morocco, Mr. Nasser Bourita. A meeting which was crowned by the signing of the Agreement on visa exemption for holders of national/ordinary passports between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Kingdom of Morocco. This agreement aims to facilitate the movement of citizens of the two countries and contributes to further strengthening bilateral relations between the two nations. According to the agreement, citizens of Kazakhstan and Morocco are exempt from visa requirements for entry, exit, transit and temporary stay in each other’s territory, based on national/ordinary passports currently valid. The duration of each stay must not exceed 30 calendar days within a period of 180 days from the date of entry.

Note that the celebration of the Kazakh national day was the occasion for the screening of a documentary, directed by Chouaib Brhadda, journalist and documentarian, on the Fifth World Nomad Games, organized last September in Astana. A major cultural and sporting event, in which 89 countries and more than 2,500 athletes took part. In these competitions celebrating nomadic traditions, Kazakhstan was dominant, winning 112 medals, including 43 gold.

Commenting on the film, Mohamed Kadira, doctor and university professor specializing in sports governance and management, noted the importance of producing and directing such documentaries aimed, he indicates, at the consolidation of relations between peoples, noting the remarkable progress and development made by Kazakhstan on all levels, emphasizing that the future of tourism is in the trend towards countries and societies whose wealth is manifested above all by their values ​​and historical and humanitarian heritage.

At the end of the ceremony, a beautiful tribute was paid to the Ambassador of Kazakhstan, Saulekul Saulaikyzy and the director of the documentary Chouaïb Brhadda, by Hassan Ammari, president of the Moroccan Association for Cooperation and Friendship between Peoples and by other associative actors acting in the field of parallel diplomacy.
