If showbiz is apparently all about smiles and hugs, it often happens that certain personalities fall apart. In this regard, one of the most memorable clashes of the 21st century took place in 2012, when Christophe Hondelatte simply insulted Dave several times in front of him. The start of a battle worth the detour…

During his long and illustrious career, Dave has especially endeared himself to the public and his peers. His outspokenness nevertheless earned him not only friends, he who, for example, did not hesitate to publicly criticize Vianney and Claudio Capéo. But it was indeed with Christophe Hondelatte that the tone was seriously raised, in a confusion that has become cult today.

The huge clash between Christophe Hondelatte and Dave

The scene took place in 2012, in the show “17th coming out of the elevator” hosted by Laurent Baffie.

Dave’s contempt for musicians he calls amateurs is absolutely unbearable! He may be a national glory, but I shit his face. You don’t respect musicians! It’s not a television stunt, I don’t care about the cameras! You’re worthless, you’re miserable, you don’t respect the musician in front of you.

That guy who plays music might be a better musician than you. You’re just a product of show biz! Shit, shit, and shit! When a musician plays we listen to him. You didn’t listen for a minute. You chatter next door like a showbiz starlet!

At the time, Dave didn’t react, barely playing irony. But two years after this settling of scores, he admitted his share of responsibility at the microphone of Voici, then on the show “Non Stop People”:

The truth is that it was me who started teasing him on Laurent Baffie’s show. We were showing his clip, and I said, laughing: “Ah, I love amateurs! » After which he attacked me.

He had a clash with me, which I recognized quite quickly. I think it’s a chemical disturbance. This boy has to take painkillers and sometimes the dosage isn’t right, so he loses his temper for nothing.

Red-hot again by these comments, Hondelatte then said it again, taking offense that the presentation of a musical program was entrusted to his rival:

I still think Dave is a pretentious snob. I find it amazing that France Télévisions is looking for Dave to host a show on French songs in 2014. The guy, he sang in the 60s… It seems a little surreal to me.

Not enough to make the main party lose track, who concluded this heated clash without compromising, but always with a touch of humor:

It’s a bit pathetic. I said he was a good journalist, but I didn’t start singing in the 60s. My first success dates from June 1974. He needs to reread my bio or my obituary, which must be lying around in editorials given my age.

Needless to say, Christophe Hondelatte and Dave will not be going on vacation together after these frosty exchanges, to say the least. This is how life in showbiz sometimes goes, where personalities are sometimes incompatible and where ego takes precedence over everything. At least, between the host and the singer, things are clear!
