A brand new show is coming to M6: The Golden Bachelor. A man, Landry, aged 60, will have to choose from 20 contenders. But who is he?
It’s official: M6 is offering a brand new show called Golden Bachelor. It will be hosted by Stéphane Rotenberg, who hosted the first seasons of Bachelor from 2003. Twenty years later, the presenter is back for the senior version of the program which will begin on Thursday June 27 at 9:10 p.m. The principle ? A 60-year-old man will meet 20 suitors who are between 55 and 67 years old, with the aim of finding love. To refine your choices, activities in groups or just for two are planned such as cooking classes, walks or even spa sessions… Enough to create more and more connections with the contenders.

In just one month, he will have to gradually select those he prefers to keep in the adventure and thus learn more. To do this, a rose ceremony will take place regularly and the sixty-year-old will distribute roses to the women he wishes to keep with him a little longer. So, during the first episode he will already have to eliminate 5. However, these women also have their say and can thus leave the adventure whenever they want by refusing the famous roses! Something that risks completely shaking up the golden bachelor… The latter’s name is Landry. Find out who he is.

Who is Landry, the first French Golden Bachelor of the show broadcast on M6?
The first French golden bachelor is called Landry. Aged 60, he has three children aged 20, 25 and 31. If the two oldest have left the family nest, the father lives with his youngest daughter. In the first episode of the program that we saw in preview, we can discover his portrait. He then confides that he has been a widower since 2006 and that he has devoted all his time to taking care of his family and his work since then. “I devoted myself to my children. To my business and my job. We don’t have time to think about ourselves”he confides.

But now he is ready to take time to find love again and explains: “I live with my daughter who is 20 years old and I sold my (chimney) business 2 years ago. I have a lot more time”. He decided to participate in the program because he couldn’t find love any other way. “Apps are complicated, I spent time on them and gave up. The sites are running, it’s going very quickly, we meet, we jump in,” he explained to us during a round table during the program’s press conference. So, he embarked on the adventure. “At 60, you have to take risks, I had nothing to lose”, he said.

This drama that Landry, the Golden Bachelor experienced at only 41 years old
It was in 2006 when he was only 41 years old that Landry lost his wife. At the time, her children were 2, 7 and 13 years old. It was a particularly brutal death since while he was on vacation with his family, he found his wife lifeless on the ground. She then remained in a coma before passing away in December 2006, before Christmas.
In his portrait, the sixty-year-old confides: “It wasn’t fair, I think about it every day”before explaining: “The sky is falling on you. We regret not telling him how much we loved him but it’s too late.” Landry talks about it without taboo and although he has had other relationships with women since, he has not found true love again.
