The France Info morning worker explained a few months ago about having a meticulous life where every moment counts and is organized so as not to forget anything. What could be more normal when you adopt the rhythm of life of a morning journalist, getting up in the middle of the night to accompany, behind their screen, the awakening of viewers? After having regularly hosted the news of France 2 as well as Telematin, the latter is used to it. A few weeks before the Paris Olympic Games during which he will comment on the equestrian games, the latter looks back on the past year and its difficulties.

A year marked by a sad event

“I’ve had a pretty eventful year on a personal level” announces Jean-Baptiste Marteau in an interview with Gala. One might think that being a father and hosting a morning show could be enough to explain this feeling, but Jean-Baptiste Marteau also talks about another event that disrupted his year: his divorce. Indeed, the journalist explains: Nearly a year ago, my ex-husband and I decided to separate. We therefore divorced after twelve beautiful years of a relationship which will remain beautiful and full of good memories..” The complexity of being a single father was therefore added to an already very busy schedule: “We had to manage all of this in addition to waking up at 3 a.m. for morning shows. It was a rich and intense year.”

Jean-Baptiste Marteau and her ex-husband chose to preserve their daughter

After their divorce, Jean-Baptiste Marteau and his former partner attached great importance to not subjecting their daughter to their separation: “Our priority has been to protect our little girl from all this, to be with her as best as we can and we get along extremely well for her” A priority that the journalist has always claimed. For example, he is extremely careful not to expose his daughter Colette on social networks and to protect her from the dangers of the internet. To the great pleasure of the little girl, the journalist has just filmed an episode of Fort Boyard : “She is very excited to see me there (…) She put pressure on me before I left for the shoot. She said ‘Dad, you have to pass the tests’. Before each test, I thought about what she had told me. And since the filming, she has bombarded me with questions.”
