She is only 19 years old and yet, it is already artistic evidence. The young singer from Toulouse continues to climb the stages. A singer in the street, an artist without knowing it, she has just performed at Printemps de Bourges and won her place at the Bigflo & Oli Rose Festival. Discovery of this rough diamond that should definitely not be polished.

At first listen, you feel that something is happening. A touch of voice, without mannerisms, without lack of taste. A natural talent that just needs to be discovered.

Dinaa can’t believe she’s there, meeting a growing audience. She wasn’t aiming for a career, she didn’t know she was an artist. And yet. “I don’t dream of being a star. It’s all just an outlet… No arrangements, auto-tune, raw music is my thing” she proclaims in the song “Mélo” which opens her first EP.

A freshness, an obviousness rarely taken by surprise. Musician, songwriter, singer with a guitar, we undoubtedly think of Tracy Chapman but also of the unforgettable interpreter of “Poèmes de Michelle” who has now passed away: Teri Moïse. “I started singing, I was 2 years old, in my mother’s car. Then I sang in the street in Grenoble, a school that does not forgive. It was someone who had passed me in the street that sent my profile to A2H.”

A2H is a rapper-singer-composer-arranger that she listens to. She decides to cover one of her songs “Agoisse”. “It’s a song that particularly touches me. I listened to it when I was leaving my parents’ house and things weren’t going well. I did it like that. I filmed it on my phone and I I posted without a specific purpose. It’s a personal piece for me. I have my interpretation based on my experience.

A complicated moment in his young life, a piece that sticks to his skin and sweats. Posted on the networks, she received a message one day from her initial interpreter. A2H congratulated her on her performance and asked her if she writes things. She then thinks it’s a scam. She even contacted a lawyer to check. Telephone exchanges and a meeting followed. “A2H congratulated me. I sent my songs. We decided to meet. He told me about an EP. I went to his house in Paris and played him my songs.”

Since then she released her first EP in March with 8 tracks. Le Printemps de Bourges spotted her and selected her for the Inouïs who are interested in emerging artists. She has also just won another springboard: to play at the Bigflo & Oli Rose Festival in Toulouse.

“The dreams that speak” is the title of his rather premonitory first EP. Dinaa is only 19 years old but we already feel a lot of ease in her style and a lot of maturity in her texts, particularly for the Song of the Sirens.

Today I am shipwrecked
No more right to be fragile
The body that collapses on the rock
Failed carafe, ten thousand brains
I’m writing to you at the league
Still no help at the limit

Without doubt one of the most accomplished pieces of the album, with sober and effective arrangements with an unadorned interpretation. Dinaa plays bass as well as treble, without forcing, just enough. Pieces often marked with anxiety, like the title of her cover of A2H, a playful spleen with which she manages to play.

As proof of his maturity, the song “Fantome” was written at the age of 14 about his boyfriend at the time. Banal facts but magnified by his voice. “3/4 of the time, I write on instrumentals. I listen to a lot of rap, often my lyrics, I rap with them, that’s why they are different. Then I take my guitar and then I put some chords in and I’ll turn it into a song.”

Musically, there is also “Lisa”. Always the sadness and this ability to have written something where everyone can recognize themselves. Once again, the interpretation is sober, intelligent with a progression in the piece. “This is my first composition shared on the networks, a piece that is close to my heart, written with the aim of reaching people. The others are more personal. I had just opened Tik Tok, I had more 500,000 views on my video, today more than 700,000 is nonsense! I received a lot of messages who told me that this piece had helped them in their daily lives, to put this into perspective. Lisa is a bit of anyone.” Yes, but it’s not just anything.

In a few months she went through the stages while remaining herself. This meeting with A2H, the first concerts like that of the Metronum in Toulouse opening for Patrice, whom she has listened to since a young age. She is invited for programs on France Bleu or Culture Box on FTV, reports on France 3 Occitanie. Then the surprise of being selected for the Inouïs du Printemps de Bourges. “It was pretty crazy. I didn’t know that I had been signed up. I did a residency, coaching, first stage experience. For the concert at the Metronum it was crazy, my first concert in Toulouse, people were into the sound.”

Despite this beginning of recognition, she does not change. We probably haven’t heard the last of this young artist. We just have to hope that this rough diamond is not polished by overly commercial or tasteless productions. “Basically I don’t do this for me. Making music was not my goal. The future ? I do not know. My goal: to continue my momentum, enjoy it as much as possible, take full advantage of what I’m given.”
