Train bassist dies after fall in shower

The former bassist and co-founder of the American group Train, Charlie Colin, died at the age of 58, after slipping in the shower while he was house-sitting for a friend in Brussels (Belgium), said the mother of the artist to the TMZ site. The date of the accident is unknown; the body was discovered a few days later, when Charlie’s friend Colin returned home.

The former Train bassist also lived in Brussels, where he taught music at a conservatory. According to his mother, Charlie Colin was finishing composing music for a film and was also working in a studio.

Created in 1993 in San Francisco, the group Train was a hit in 2001 with the album “Drops of Jupiter”, which earned them two Grammys, and even enjoyed international success with titles such as “Hey Soul Sister” or “ Drive by”. Charlie Colin left the group in 2003, undermined by drug addiction.

Train singer Pat Monahan paid tribute to him on the band’s Instagram account. “When I met Charlie Colin, front left in the photo, I fell in love with him,” he wrote in the caption of the publication. “He was the nicest guy in the world, and what a handsome man! ‘Let’s form a band’, it was the only reasonable thing to do. His unique bass playing and beautiful guitar work helped people notice us in San Francisco and beyond. I will always have a warm place for him in my heart. I always tried to keep him close, but he had his own vision. You are a legend, Charlie. Go charm these angels.
