It is on its X account that the Departmental Council of Indre-et-Loire called for the greatest vigilance, as reported by our colleagues from France Bleu Touraine.
Indeed, the message was published last Friday by the services of the Departmental Council of Indre-et-Loire. The latter has the merit of being clear: individuals are currently pretending to be agents of the Departmental House for Disabled Persons (MDPH).
Fraudulent calls to steal banking data
“Scam alert: fraudulent calls in the name of the MDPH”, writes the Departmental Council as an introduction. On the social network, the community explained to its constituents that “malicious individuals are currently using the MDPH telephone number to pose as official agents”. Still according to post X, the criminals would ask their victims to indicate their bank card numbers, by telephone.
So, scammers asking for this type of confidential and sensitive information, such as bank details, could misuse it. Indeed, they could, for example, make fraudulent payments. “Be vigilant! », concludes the Departmental Council of Indre-et-Loire.
