In a Manhattan cafe, Alec Baldwin was on the phone when an unknown woman began filming him with her phone. In the footage, she asks him to say to “liberate Palestine” several times before adding: “Why aren’t you in prison?” The activist refers to the death of Halyna Hutchins on the set of “Rust”.
At the beginning of the video, Alec Baldwin remains calm, but becomes increasingly irritated as the woman continues to insist. He ends her phone call and goes to the front door to ask her to leave the cafe, which she ignores.
The star then asks an employee to contact the police while the activist accuses her of “crime”. Alec Baldwin finally loses his patience and snatches his phone, thus ending the recording.
As a reminder, the filming of the western turned into a tragedy in October 2021 on a ranch in New Mexico. Alec Baldwin pointed a gun meant to contain only blank bullets, but a live round killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and injured another person.
Earlier this month, Hannah Gutierrez, the film’s chief weapons expert, was sentenced to 18 months in prison. Alec Baldwin, also a producer of the film, is accused of involuntary manslaughter. His trial is scheduled for July.
