The faithful companions have probably never worn this nickname so well. On December 29, a Jeju Air plane, departing from Thailand, crashed after hitting a wall during an emergency landing at Muan Airport, South Korea. Of the 181 people on board, 179 died.

Among the victims: the family of Pudding, a little dog who has been desperately waiting for her owners since the tragedy. His story, shared by animal welfare and defense associations, is shaking the country today.

Two days after the crash, Pudding was found wandering in the village of Gunnam-myeon, about 20 kilometers from Muan airport. She hovered around her family's house and watched the cars passing by, hoping for her owners to return.

Several neighbors tried to take care of the animal. But tirelessly, she returned to her owners' homes to wait for them.

Residents of the village ended up warning associations committed to the animal cause. On Tuesday, December 31, volunteers from the Care association collected the animal before taking it to a veterinary clinic in Seoul to ensure its good health.

A good reflex since the little dog, partly fed by the residents, had ingested products potentially dangerous to her health, such as onions or chicken bones.

The nine members of the family who took the flight all died, even though they had gathered across three generations to celebrate the grandfather's 80th birthday.

According to Care, the dog belonged to his 5-year-old granddaughter, who had therefore left it at her grandfather's home during the trip. The association assures that it will take care of the animal while it finds a reliable adopter.

This story is reminiscent of those of other animals, now part of the legend, like Hachiko. This Japanese Akita dog, from 1925 to 1935, waited in front of Shibuya station in Tokyo for his master who had died at his workplace, in the place where he used to find him, hoping to see him again. A day.
