Temperatures of around 37 degrees Celsius have slowly melted a wax statue of the 16th President of the United States, Abraham Lincoln.

In the most recent images of the work, the 16th President of the United States can be seen completely slumped in his chair. However, this was not the position initially desired.

Due to the extreme heat in the US capital, the wax statue slowly deteriorated until the former president’s head tilted completely backwards. A leg and a foot were also reportedly affected by the high temperatures.

It must be said that the 1.80 meter creation is a real candle and is part of a series of wax sculptures.

Artist Sandy Williams IV had actually studied different types of wax extensively to avoid this type of incident. The wax chosen was paraffin, which was supposed to be able to withstand temperatures of up to 60 degrees, but it started to melt at 37 degrees.
