The sun had a hard time finding its place this Saturday, June 29, over the Bastia region, well ventilated by the sirocco. It took more to dissuade Lucie Gaspari and her budding violinists from taking possession of the Pigno plateau, for once deserted by cows. Some hikers or trail runners had also ventured there and were surprised and amazed by the show given by these young artists with a view of Bastia and the Nebbiu. Lucie Gaspari is originally from Saint Florent. It was there that she developed a passion for the violin at a very young age. “ I hit my 1is bow to the age of three. At 5, only one teacher wanted to take charge of me, Max Morandi, a musician and violinist well-known in Corsica and beyond. Since then, I haven’t let go of my violin and I have made it my profession, spreading my passion to young people, notably at the Una Volta cultural center in Bastia.” Lucie also inherited another passion from her mother: hiking. “LHiking represents freedom to me and playing the violin on the top of the mountains brings me an incomparable serenity and freedom. It is being in harmony with nature, rising above the real world and playing in complete freedom. In addition, I appreciate this part of improvisation that nature offers with its changing weather and its elements. Hiking brings me immense serenity and well-being in this modern world.she confides.
Once or twice a week, with her mother, she sets off to conquer the mountains of Cap Corse, the violin in her bag. Her privileged listeners are called Cimone, Follicie, Stello, Capra, Gratera, Giagoppa, Alticionne ….

She also passed on this passion for the mountains to her students, young, very young for the most part. A small talented troupe that she nicknamed: “I Viulini Liberi”. On this Saturday, June 29, they met at Pigno. The uncertain weather made some people give up but we wanted to be there, to end the year with the sunset around a Spuntinu” Lucie pointed out a few meters from the large antennas of Pigno. ” This meeting allows me to share a musical moment with my students and their families in complete freedom and to be able to combine both my job as a musician teacher with that of a mid-mountain guide in the near future. I simply wish to transmit my passion for music and nature which I think bring well-being and freedom ».
