Gwar of nerves, war of words, war in general: in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, threats and retaliatory measures have been flying, in recent days, between the two camps. Latest episodes: Washington announced this Wednesday the supply of anti-personnel mines to Ukraine to slow down the advance of Russian troops who are regaining ground in the east of the country. Faced with protests from all those who have fought for decades to eradicate this “weapon of cowards” which kills and mutilates civilians long after the end of conflicts, Washington explained that these are “non-persistent” mines, equipped with ‘a self-deactivation or self-destruction mechanism.
