Ivory Coast and particularly Abidjan experienced heavy rain on Thursday June 13 which caused enormous material damage. The Ivorian columnist, Marie Paule Adjé also paid the costs.

The Autonomous District of Abidjan and several surrounding towns as well as in the interior of the country have been under water since Thursday June 13 until Friday June 14. But the heavy rain which fell on the economic capital of Côte d’Ivoire on Thursday June 13 caused enormous material damage in several communes of Abidjan and unfortunately loss of human life. Not all social classes were spared from the numerous floods caused by the violent downpours.

The rising waters followed by landslides in certain municipalities of Abidjan such as Adjamé, Bingerville, Cocody, Yopougon and Abobo, swept away many vehicles. This is the case of the Ivorian columnist, Marie Paule Adjé. The businesswoman was affected by the water damage. His car was subjected to a severe test by this heavy rain.

It was by launching a call for vigilance on Thursday June 13, in the evening, on her Facebook page, that she gave the information. ”Please take care of yourself. My car was not lucky unfortunately. But please stay at home as a precaution.”, he writes. Konnie Touré’s best friend did not specify what her vehicle really suffered from at first.

After the announcement, pages on the web rushed to say that the columnist’s vehicle had been swept away by the rising waters. She gave more details in a post this Friday, June 14 in the afternoon on her Facebook page. “My car was not taken away, this is false information. Thank you for your messages nonetheless », she writes. And to specify in a comment under the publication: “I was just stuck in a risk zone, I had no other choice but to go for it. My car held up until I left the scene, but then it stopped responding! Hence the message, be careful”.
