“Montpellier changes with you” allows the mayor, Michael Delafosse and elected officials to get closer to Montpellier residents, thanks to a program spread over a week. This Saturday, June 8, 2024, the now “urban stroll” closed these meetings as close as possible to citizens since Monday, June 3, in the Cévennes district.

The group set off in the morning from the local Youth Mission, rue Paul Rimbaud where the mayor spoke with young people aged 16 to 25 who discussed their professional projects. Michaël Delafosse took the opportunity to confirm thata bustram line will be built to be put into service no later than the end of 2028. Still on the subject of public transport, he revealed that the rate of TaM 3M buses on line 15 serves the Cévennes, Petit Bard, Alco, etc. would be strengthened.

A new public park will be established on a private plot for €1.4 million, in January 2026. It will offer an educational garden and games for children. The City of Montpellier is in charge of part of the vast Cévennes co-ownership -900 housing units in twelve buildings- and will manage the roads and green spaces, in particular. A market and shops are planned around 2030.

The redevelopment of Chemin de l’Aqueduc will be launched before the end of the year to provide great continuity of walking. During this week rich in exchanges, the mayor was of course challenged by residents of the deal point, avenue du Professor Louis Ravas, where dealers have been trapped and injured by bullets since the beginning of the year, including the last recently, with fifteen isolated impacts on the facade of a residence.

No respite for Michaël Delafosse and his teams: from Tuesday June 18, they will continue the “Montpellier changes with you” operation, this time in the Center district, for a highly anticipated second edition. Two strong points are already to be remembered: a public meeting Thursday June 20 and the urban stroll Saturday June 22, with the Republican aperitif.

This will be the seventh and final “Montpellier changes with you” action, after the first which took place in March at La Croix d’Argent and the others which followed, notably at Prés d’Arènes, at Celleneuve or at Port Marianne .

“Montpellier is a city that is changing, which is meeting the challenges: those of ecological transition, solidarity, employment, fraternity. As you know, I am very attached, like the municipal team, to regular, close dialogue on all subjects. In this spirit, I invite you from March 18 to June 22, like last year, to all districts of the city. I know that some of you are retained due to professional activity, family responsibilities, etc. They can obviously share their proposals and comments online via the website; an answer will be given to them.

Residents of the Center district are already invited to give their opinion online on a dedicated consultation space, where they can publish their grievances and their opinions and ideas on the future of this vast area around the Ecusson. .
