According to the Spanish press, Nikola Vušović, a fugitive wanted by the police of several countries, was arrested in Barcelona (Catalonia) this Friday, October 19. The latter was in possession of false documents when he was arrested.

Serbia, Montenegro and Germany were looking for him. Austria and Croatia also wanted his arrest. It was finally in Barcelona, ​​Spain, that Nikola Vušović was apprehended by the national police.

According to the Serbian media, Blic, the suspect was arrested with his girlfriend and was in possession of false documents at the time of the incident. Originally from Serbia, he is the head of the Kavak clan and is behind a triple homicide. His victims include a shipowner, a businessman and a member of an international gang called the Pink Panthers.

On his X account, the Spanish National Police also mentioned his arrest and described the suspect as “one of the most dangerous and bloodthirsty fugitives in the world” and specifies that the latter risks life in prison for this triple homicide case.

Suspected in the assassination of the president of Haiti

As for the Spanish press, we emphasize that Nikola Vušović could be linked to the death of then-Haitian President Jovanel Moise on the night of July 6 to 7, 2021.

Our colleagues specify that, a few months earlier, in March, the Serb had been arrested, without being extradited to his country of origin. He was eventually released before completely disappearing.

The media El Caso adds that the suspect’s lawyer wanted to clarify that his client had surrendered under certain conditions. He could soon be extradited to Serbia to stand trial in connection with the three killings.
