The Moselle prefecture took stock of the situation this Saturday at 7:45 a.m. Things seem to be improving on the weather front. “The rain has stopped in Moselle, the situation is improving. The Moselle is no longer placed by Météo-France in a rain-flood alert situation, indicates the press release. The sectors of Boulay, Bouzonville, Saint-Avold, Freyming-Merlebach, Sarreguemines and Thionville were particularly affected (…) 120 interventions by firefighters are still in progress.

Although no victims or injuries have been reported, the situation remains complicated in Hombourg-Haut, Boulay, in the Nied valley with a red flood alert. The TGV which was blocked at Hombourg-Haut then towed towards Forbach should leave again shortly. Work on the track obstructed by falling trees is nearing completion. Access to the A320 motorway from the A4 motorway, in the Paris-Strasbourg direction, is still cut off towards Saarbrück. A diversion is possible via exit 39 at Farébersviller. Departmental roads also remain cut in the Bitche, Forbach and Thionville sectors.
