It was a rather unusual discovery made by the employees of the Eiffel Tower (7th arrondissement) this Saturday morning. And certainly some tourists. From the floors of the Iron Lady, some have noticed the presence, on the ground, at the level of the Jacques-Chirac quay which runs alongside the monument on the Seine side, of five coffins. Three individuals were arrested, a police Source tells us.

“This morning around 9 a.m., near the Eiffel Tower, three individuals placed on the public highway 5 real-size coffins covered with a French flag, with the words French soldiers dead in Ukraine », Indicates this same Source to Le Parisien. An intervention by the central laboratory “made it possible to discover that the coffins contained plaster”.

At the Eiffel Tower, the first interpretations are circulating: “It is to denounce France which is involved in the war in Ukraine”, estimates an employee. And added: “It is Russia’s desire to voluntarily disrupt France through various actions. »

Bulgarian, Ukrainian and German individuals

According to information from a police Source, “the driver of the van used for transport was able to be arrested nearby thanks to the rapid deployment of personnel”. At the same time, “the investigations carried out made it possible to find two people suspected of being the wanted perpetrators as they were preparing to take a bus to Berlin (Germany)”.

An investigation is underway to “determine possible foreign interference”. According to our information, those arrested are Bulgarian, Ukrainian and German. The three are in police custody for “premeditated violence”, specifies the Paris prosecutor’s office this Saturday evening.
