Priska Naverre, a Canadian national, was slightly injured after being “pushed” by the car which was traveling, like her, in the Vairao-Taravao direction. According to testimonies from other cyclists behind, the driver, who did not bother to stop, zigzagged for several hundred meters. In his race, he collided with another tandem piloted by American tourists who were less lucky than her: three broken ribs and a pneumothorax for this American participant. A misadventure which tarnishes this stay spent traveling the roads of Raiatea, Tahaa, Bora Bora, Huahine and Moorea. “It’s sad because we spent some beautiful days on the islands”says the Canadian. “Everyone has been kind and caring, and what happened is a shame. » The tourists of course filed a complaint, and the gendarmerie opened an investigation.
