Three orders have been cancelled since the disaster, a huge loss of revenue for The Italian Sea Group.

THE Bayesian has not finished revealing its secrets, nor causing a lot of ink to flow. On Monday, August 19, this pleasure sailboat was shipwrecked off the coast of Palermoin Sicily (Italy). Several sources report that the ship was carried away by a waterspout before sinking. Seven people had died, while 22 people (including 10 crew members) were on board at the time of the tragedy. Fifteen of them were rescued. Among the deceased victims, the British entrepreneur Mike Lynchwho made his fortune by selling his software company to Hewlett-Packard, as well as his daughter Hannahaged 18.

Who is responsible? Why did the Bayesian sink? If the investigation continues, the theory of human error is favored, all eyes are on Captain James Cutfield and his seconds.

Justice

A case that has barely begun the justice chapter. This Friday, a special file was even filed with the Termini Imerese court, already in charge of the investigation into the shipwreck: a procedure for requesting compensation for the benefit of the builder, The Italian Sea Group headed by Giovanni Constantino. According to information from La Nazione, their lawyers are behind the process. And are demanding the modest sum of 222 million euros! Still according to our colleagues, the builder’s lawyers believe that the company’s image has been tarnished by this affair and that it is the victim of a real loss of earnings.

A message from The Italian Sea Group confirms that the status has been confirmed by the report of the Bayesian shipwreckhttps://t.co/LUhNMp1XPe

The aim of the manoeuvre: to prove that the sinking was due to human error. And to recover the loss of earnings from these three orders cancelled shortly after the tragedy.

La Nazione reports that the lawyers requested a technical report intended to demonstrate the responsibility of the captain and his mates, while the other boat anchored in the area that day “withstood” the storm without any problems.

An approach that has caused some teeth to grind since the colossal sum has been partly claimed from Revtomthe company that owns the boat and is run by Mike Lynch’s widow, Angela Bacares, a survivor who lost her husband and daughter in the disaster.

Earlier this week, a spokesman for the manufacturer stated that TISG was dissociating itself from this procedure initiated without authorization by its lawyers. The Italian Sea Group even asked its representatives to cancel the procedure. To be continued.
