Instead of looking for land to develop its projects, a real estate agency bought a forest to plant trees there, in Normandy, in the north of France.
La Petite Agence, based in Calvados, has committed to planting a tree on this recently acquired two-hectare plot of land each time a property sale is concluded, according to a report West France Monday.
“We are sensitive to the environment and even if we have reduced the use of paper in our agencies or coffee capsules, we wanted to do more,” said Quentin Jouy, one of the three founders of the agency, acknowledging that “there are few plots of forest for sale.”
The trio that bought the plot has begun clearing it to make it accessible to hikers and cyclists, while waiting to offer the agency’s clients the chance to help plant trees on the land.
“The goal is to create one or two friendly meetings during the year with our clients,” the real estate agent explained to the French media, admitting that La Petite Agence is not against the idea of expanding this plot of land.
