Canal+ wants to be reassuring after double debits observed among certain subscribers

For several days, Canal+ subscribers have been alerting about the presence of a double debit on their bank account.

The news came in the middle of the weekend: between January 4 and 5, several Canal+ subscribers reported double billing for their January subscription. An amount which varies depending on the formula, but which caused some cold sweats.

Customer service, which was then unavailable, was unable to provide an explanation before Monday, January 6. But contrary to what the display on the bank account suggests, there were obviously not two withdrawals. On X, the account dedicated to Canal+ after-sales service tries to reassure.

“An anomaly” which has no impact

“An anomaly concerning the display of the withdrawal amount announcement has been identified. The latter should not be withdrawn twice,” warns customer service.

If, however, this were the case – which is not necessarily easy to identify, even if you can contact your bank to be sure – it is then advisable to contact Canal+ support, who will come to correct the situation.

This display bug comes just a few days after the disappearance of Disney+ from Canal+ offers, as well as a global imbroglio on the tacit invoicing of a new subscription. If the two platforms tried to reassure subscribers by explaining that no billing would be made if your Disney+ account had been created at the time of your subscription to Canal+.

If, on the other hand, you have linked a Disney+ account formerly subscribed to the SVOD service and a valid payment method was still indicated, you should then consider canceling manually via your Disney account. If you prefer to continue your subscription, a promotional offer of two euros per month is available until January 21.
