BFMTV strengthens after departures: A major recruit speaks about his arrival on the channel

In recent weeks, BFMTV has been faced with an unprecedented wave of departures. The channel notably lost its political journalist, Thomas Soulié. To compensate for this, she poached an emblematic figure from Télévisions.

Guillaume Daret leaves France Télévisions for BFMTV

As announced Puremédias On Tuesday November 26, 2024, Guillaume Daret decided to leave France Télévisions to join BFMTV. On the latter, he will become the new presenter of BFM Politics from January 2025. Since the departure of Benjamin Duhamel – who landed a daily at the start of the school year – the show, broadcast every Sunday between noon and 1 p.m., was presented by Neïla Latrous, head of the channel's political department .

Via his Twitter account, Guillaume Daret commented on his arrival on the channel formerly managed by Marc-Olivier Fogiel. I am delighted to soon join this very beautiful BFMTV editorial team and honored to succeed Neïla Latrous at the presentation of BFM Politique. Thanks to Camille Langlade (editorial director of BFMTV, editor’s note), Fabien Namias (director of the channeleditor's note), Jean-Philippe Baille (delegate general manager for information RMC-BFM, editor's note) and Nicolas de Tavernost (president of RMC-BFM, editor's note) for their trust”he wrote.

The journalist did not fail to have a word for France Télévisions, a group in which he had worked for more than 13 years. A huge thank you to France Télévisions, a wonderful company where I arrived almost 14 years ago as a young reporter and where I learned everything”he continued while mentioning Muriel Pleynet (editorial director of France Télévisions, editor's note) and Alexandre Kara (news boss of France Télévisions, editor's note).

Guillaume Daret will not only present BFM Politics. The one that the France 2 public could regularly find at the presentation of 4 Truths In Telematin will become one of BFMTV's political columnists. In this capacity, he will notably be required to participate in the channel's special programs such as Facing BFM.

Serial departures at BFMTV

After its takeover by Rodolphe Saadé, boss of the shipowner CMA-CGM, BFMTV suffered a series of departures.
