When her father’s will is read, Ana, a brilliant lawyer from Madrid, falls from her chair. His darling dad had a hidden – and well-stocked – bank account that the notary must bequeath, in the form of an anonymous donation, to a woman and her daughter. A quick Internet search dispelled his suspicions. “He was a trafficker. He betrayed his associates. He abandoned his family and came here,” she summarizes to her mother.
Determined to shed light on his murder – he was shot in the head while he was taking tourists on his sailboat – the young woman moved to Cambados, a charming port in Galicia, in Spain. , where she meets handsome Daniel, a temporary gang leader who manages drug imports while awaiting his father’s release. “The Coke Clans”, a Spanish series which is a hit on Netflix, to the point of having dethroned season 3 of “The Bridgerton Chronicle” just a few days after its release online this Friday, June 21, combines thriller and romance. The result is effective… but without any big surprises.

After ten minutes, we take the first bets: how many episodes will it take for “The Honest Girl” to succumb to the irresistible charm of the little criminal with a big heart? Romeo and Juliet had better watch out. The two heroes meet in the corridors of the court where Ana (Clara Lago) has registered as a court official.
That’s good, Daniel (Tamar Novas) appears in two minutes. An audience later, he speaks to her informally and invites her to dinner. As she is professional, Ana declines. But very quickly agrees to work for him. From a standard of living point of view, that’s good: the hunk pilots boats, planes and racing cars, launders his money in luxury hotels… From a moral point of view, that’s debatable.
On the action side, we are served: the gangster is playful and multiplies the chases with the police. The first, by boat through the mussel parks of the Galician islands, is a real aquatic “Fast and Furious”, ending with a muscular docking on the beach. We must also recognize a certain panache in these coded messages in the style of fishing of the day: “that’s it, we have the octopus”, thus proudly announces the prodigal son to his imprisoned father, contacted by telephone, to announce to him that he has recovered coke.
