Chronicler of Don’t Touch My Post for a little over two months, Thomas Guénolé has almost every time been in contradiction with his comrades and Cyril Hanouna. While his comments on violence against Jewish supporters had provoked the anger of the C8 host, Thomas Guénolé remained straight in his boots. Despite everything, Cyril Hanouna made a decision: that of dismissing the columnists who speak at the same time as the others. Thomas Guénolé was very clearly targeted.
Thomas Guénolé warned by Cyril Hanouna
“Thomas Guénolé, too bad, laid off for a week. Well done, that’s how it is. You will go see Bernard Montiel who I miss”declared Cyril Hanouna during a daily newspaper Don’t Touch My Post of the week. But ultimately, the columnist did not leave the show… Until this Friday when Cyril Hanouna asked him not to come.
Cyril Hanouna lays off Thomas Guénolé
It turns out that following the daily newspaper on Thursday evening, Thomas Guénolé tweeted saying: “In support of the Palestinian cause, on the occasion of the France-Israel football match, I wore the Palestinian keffiyeh in the pocket of my jacket this evening on the set of #TPMP. It’s not much, but symbols are important. It is common for columnists to wear clothing/accessories with a message. And there is no clothing police.”
A tweet that Cyril Hanouna did not like at all. The latter felt trapped by his columnist and did not fail to declare on the air: “What bothers me most of all is the fact that you didn’t ask me. If he had asked me, frankly I would have told him to get on with his life. But I don’t like the fact that you didn’t ask me. This is where I consider it a trap. It’s not possible to do things behind my back. There are rules here that are clear. (…) I didn’t want him to come because for me he is already fired for not having asked my permission.”
Thomas Guénolé explains
Upon discovering the live broadcast, Thomas Guénolé sent a message to Cyril Hanouna to tell him that he would be delighted to return to TPMP to discuss it, but also to remind us that it is he who refuses to be informed in advance of what the columnists are going to do during the show. Cyril Hanouna then explained himself live by saying that he did not want to know the arguments of the columnists on the various debates in advance, but this kind of happening, he wants to be aware of.
Following Cyril Hanouna’s explanations, Thomas Guénolé tweeted again, writing: “Thank you with all my heart to all those who have sent me numerous messages of support and indignation since last night. If I am holding on, it is thanks to you. See you Monday.” A tweet which made many Internet users react and which should make noise in the next daily newspaper of TPMP.
