In the final episode of season 2 of NCIS, we advise you to pause at 42 minutes and 21 seconds and watch Michael Weatherly carefully!

No fan of the flagship CBS series could forget this absolutely terrible scene! Remember, during the finale of season 2 of NCIS, the character played by Sasha Alexandra suddenly lost her life by being shot in the head. A tragic death that occurred even though Caitlin “Kate” Todd had just escaped a first murder attempt.

A brutal death mentioned in the podcast of Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo

But at that moment and to the greatest relief of fans, she was wearing a bulletproof vest. Unfortunately, that was without counting on this major twist in the final seconds of the episode. A sequence so striking that Michael Weatherly (DiNozzo) and Cote de Pablo (Ziva) mentioned it during the second issue of their podcast entitled Off Duty, the rewatch of NCIS unveiled a few weeks before the launch of the new series in which they will be the hero.

It must be said that they received Sasha Alexander. It is therefore impossible to miss this overwhelming moment! The opportunity for the interpreter of DiNozzo to reveal an anecdote which may well surprise you: “When you get that headshot, I’m standing behind you. And if you watch it in slow motion, there’s a little easter egg for the fans at home.”

“I jump just before”

He explains : “If you look closely, right before the dot appears on your head and they added in post-production, there is a bag full of fake blood positioned right behind your head. Larry – our special effects coordinator – blows it up and blood pours down my face. It was placed in front of me and if you look closely, I jump just before the dot appears on your forehead.”

Usually, the scene would probably have been shot again. But fortunately, Michael Weatherly’s reaction went unnoticed enough and was therefore kept in the final version of the episode. Still, fans will never forget this sequence because it was so unexpected. If you want to see this for yourself, pause at 42 minutes and 20 seconds. You won’t believe it!
