The investigation into the death of Matthew Perry is nearing a conclusion and, according to a source, “several people” are expected to be charged.

Eight months after the actor’s death at the age of 54, a law enforcement source told People magazine that the investigation into his death was “nearing completion” and that police believed that ” several people” should be charged.

The Friends star, who played Chandler Bing, died on October 28 after apparently drowning in a hot tub at his home in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood of Los Angeles. An autopsy revealed that conditions contributing to his death included “the acute effects of ketamine,” “coronary artery disease, and the effects of buprenorphine.” Ketamine is a dissociative anesthetic used medically for the induction and maintenance of anesthesia, while buprenorphine is an opioid used to treat opioid use disorder, acute pain, and chronic pain.

The autopsy report also revealed that “prescription medications and loose pills” were found at his home. Los Angeles Police Department officials confirmed that the investigation remains active.
