The excellent Silo finally returns to Apple TV+ and the trailer for season 2 promises some very heavy stuff with Rebecca Ferguson.
Will Apple TV+ succeed in confirming the enthusiasm around Silo ? In May 2023, during the broadcast of season 1 of Silo, adapted from the eponymous book by Hugh Howey, the streaming platform has seen absolutely dythirambic audiences. According to Nielsen data, Silo posted the highest ratings for an Apple TV+ drama series, helping the platform break all-time audience records since its launch in 2019.
Unsurprisingly, and given the cliffhanger of its final episode, Silo was therefore renewed for a second season. Before the return of Apple’s other major science fiction series, the anticipatory dystopia Severanceit is therefore the turn of the post-apocalyptic series supervised by Graham Yost and led by Rebecca Ferguson to reveal itself in a breathtaking first trailer. A SILOUGH SECRET TO WEAR
That’s it, Juliette is outside and as revealed in the very last image of season 1, thousands of Silos surround the one where she lived until now. While her oxygen supply couldn’t last forever, she seems to have managed to find refuge in another deserted silo to survive. But what happened there? Is it connected to that of season 1? Will she be able to warn the residents? And more, will she succeed in finding the reasons which caused the earthly apocalypse?
The mystery remains complete for the moment. On the other hand, Juliette is the first person to go outside who did not die in front of the eyes of the inhabitants of the Silo after a few minutes. Obviously, his disappearance outside raises questions in the Silo and despite the warnings of the mayor (played by Tim Robbins), The number of rebels is growing inside the enormous bunker and it is a huge drama that seems about to happen.
The trailer is in any case full of tension. Between the revolt to be stopped, the fear of a possible return of Juliette and the secret lies of the administration, Silo season 2 should go a little further in the paranoia. Because even if Juliette survived outside in her suit, the air there is very toxic and deadly. So how can we avoid a pure massacre? These first images are very promising, it is impossible to unlock the secrets of the Silo for the moment (except for readers of the novels obviously).
One thing is certain, it could well be that Apple TV+ repeats the feat. Juliette’s adventures promise to be thrilling and we are already very curious to know who she speaks to several times in the trailer. Did she visit several silos and finally find other survivors?
