A mandate of only 3 months. Flavien Termet was elected deputy last June in the Ardennes with 52.99% of the votes. Elected by the National Rally, he was particularly noted for his young age: only 22 years old, which made him the youngest MP in the country.
A few weeks later, Flavien Termet is forced to give up. This Monday, September 30, the politician published a press release on Facebook to announce the news. In a long speech, Flavin Termet evokes medical reasons but doesn’t give any more information.
Flavien Termet: a new election
A resignation”for medical, personal reasons” he writes. Flavien Termet is in “the impossibility of fully exercising this mandate.” According to our colleagues from France 3 Grand-Est, this is a “serious illness.”
It is therefore his deputy Michel Delsuc, 68 years old, retired and deputy mayor in Coucy who takes over in the meantime. Indeed, a by-election must be organized within three months within this first constituency of the Ardennes. The new ballot should take place on December 15.
“The National Rally will present a candidate in the upcoming election and I have every confidence in him to fiercely defend our beautiful department and its inhabitants. I ask you to trust him too. The National Rally will be at your side tomorrow, as I have been from the first day you gave me your votes. I know that my successor will help you and defend you with the same vigor as I would have liked to do..” wrote the MP.
