On the verge of the semi-final of season 19 of Pékin ExpressFabrice and Briac said goodbye to their dreams of victory. Narrowly beaten by Clément, injured and overmotivated, Briac was unable to do anything in this final duel where none of the competitors were unworthy. At the end of two more difficult stages for the pair of former strangers, they returned their beacon to Stéphane Rotenberg. A hard blow for these two great adventurers, linked since their first participation in 2019, during the 12th edition of the game. A few months after this disappointment, they returned for Tele-Leisure on their elimination and the memories that this edition of the M6 adventure game leaves them.

Tele-Leisure : How did your first adventure help you in this All-stars edition?
Briac: I was young, fiery, perhaps a little less respectful than I am now.
Fabrice : We really didn’t know what the other was capable of.
B : Now we know, we complement each other…
F : …We don’t need to talk to each other, we look at each other and understand each other.
Did it change the start of your adventure to not have to learn to discover the other?
B : Necessarily. We are not experiencing the same adventure as 5 years ago. I flew alone in 2019, I was stressed, I was waiting to discover my partner and I hoped it was someone good. There is no longer this apprehension, from now on we travel together.
F : We wanted to do so well at the beginning, in 2019, so as not to disappoint each other.
B : On this edition too, we put the pressure on ourselves. We told ourselves that we shouldn’t miss this edition because it was surely our last with Fabrice. Now that we have lost, I think we blew our last chance. Unfortunately, we will never win Pékin Express. It is a great regret.
F : Maybe one day, if they come up with the idea of making a special pairing of strangers… Otherwise, we missed our chance, but we won people’s hearts a little. We would have liked to walk this red carpet and make this final. Really, it’s a huge regret.
How did you experience this final duel which was fatal to you?
F : I saw him twice while waiting for Briac. It’s horrible to wait for your partner: you don’t know what’s happening, what’s going on in your head, if he’s going to get through it, if he’s going to come back… I didn’t get over itit leaves traces.
B : In this last final duel against Clément and Emeline, I didn’t make a mistake and that is even more annoying. I came across a Clément in a state of grace, bravo to him. I really like them both. It’s a shame for us because we certainly deserved to go further. I believe that the duel in total lasts 20 minutes, it seems to me that it is one of the fastest in the history of Pékin Express.

Your elimination allows Clément and Emeline and Jean-Claude and Axel to join the semi-final…
B : We offered a very good semi-final to Papy JC and Axel, that’s what we wanted. I could never look at myself in a mirror if I had perhaps eliminated Grandpa JC I no longer have a grandpa today and he is my adventure grandpa. I couldn’t eliminate it.
F : It will be his last. He told us he was tired. We spoke from our hearts.
B : Our big dream would have been to choose Christophe and Claire, I think I would have left even more motivated because I absolutely wanted to take them out: it’s the pair that I didn’t want to see go further than us.
Briac, we see you very emotional when choosing the pair who will face you in the final duel, why such emotion?
B : I’m emotional because I know it was the last final duel of this edition and unfortunately it fell on us. This comes at the end of a dark day like I have rarely experienced on Pékin Express. Above all, I know that I will have to decide between my two favorite pairs of the adventure, those with whom I have the most affinity. So I have a lot of pressure and it’s true that it’s not easy to live with.
F: If our adventure can bring happiness to people, that’s the main thing.
B : We may not have filled our bank account by winning Pékin Expressbut we will have filled people’s hearts, so that’s the most important thing.
Pékin Express It’s also luck in the end…
B : Pékin Express Sometimes it comes down to a car or a falling glass. I was a waiter for years, I know the tray, I could never drop a tray in service. But then during the trek, a guy hits the road first, and the glass falls. It’s nothing. It was written, we should not win.
F : It’s an extraordinary adventure, the proof, each time you return you have a kind of blues, of uneasiness.
What do you remember from this edition?
F : This All-stars will stay with me for a long time, particularly thanks to sharing it with the locals.
B : We don’t receive hate messages, we only get nice messages, This is perhaps the greatest victory.

What were you surprised by in India?
B : By the Indians! It was sometimes complicated to deal with their behavior although they were very kind and always ready to help us! I believe this was the case for all the pairs. But they are people who wear their hearts on their sleeves.
F : It is a country apart from India and It’s not the one to start with if you’ve never traveled. Me who loves the street, the real one, I was in paradise
Fabrice, did you find Briac different from your first Pékin Express ?
F : He’s not the same character, I think he’s matured, he’s grown, he’s opened his eyes.
B : I was young when I made the first Pékin Express. Fabrice brought me a lot, my girlfriend brought me a lot, just like traveling.
F : It really changed him, I think… and we’re both still friends…
B : Thanks to Pékin Express for putting Fabrice on my path because today it makes a very beautiful story.
