Winner of the first race of his career in the category, the Spaniard Daniel Holgado was celebrating his success when the Australian Joel Kelso, 9th, ran into him.

Kelso’s careless mistake that hits Holgado head-on
With his head tucked into his handlebars, not seeming to realize his victory, Holgado saw Kelso ram him hard in the back. A few seconds earlier, we see the Australian glanced to his left before looking ahead again. Too late to brake… He crashed into the motorcycle of the winner of the day before making a big glide on the asphalt.

Holgado got away with it, controlling his vehicle so as not to fall to the ground. He even seemed in better shape than ever when it came time to step onto the podium, according to the MotoGP Twitter account.
On the other hand, the news is much less reassuring for Kelso. A few minutes after his accident, he was taken to the medical center while being conscious. After an X-ray, the diagnosis fell for the Australian driver: ankle fracture.
