“I had to cancel to take care of an urgent problem”: this lawyer was to participate in the expedition of the Titan submarine

Five people on board the “Titan” submarine are still missing, but there were to be six of them. Attorney David Concannon canceled his expedition to the Titanic at last for business reasons.

Chance or simple coincidence, what is certain is that David Concannon is a “miraculous”. This lawyer was initially to participate in the expedition of the submarine which disappeared in the waters off the coast of Newfoundland in Canada with five people on board, including the aquanaut Paul-Henry Nargeolet.

David Concannon explained in a Facebook post the reasons for his cancellation at the last moment to participate in the expedition. “I had to cancel to take care of an urgent problem with a client,” explained the lawyer. A professional obligation would therefore be at the origin of this choice, which he specified online.

Stop the interference

Contacted by OceanGate, David Concannon pledged to “provide all possible assistance to ensure the safe return of the submarine and its passengers”.

On his Facebook account, he thanks Internet users for the many messages of support he has received, but also sends a more general message to avoid interference and promote the success of rescue operations.

“Please stop calling, texting, messaging and any other form of communication during this critical time. You are interfering with more important communications that need to be done to resolve this situation as quickly and as efficiently as possible. as surely as possible.”
