Tragic death in Luxembourg: Bob Wagner, “a warm, humorous and helpful colleague”

“Bob Wagner was an optimist, he smiled at life. He was very friendly and humble, he gladly helped his parents on the farm”. Carlos Neto, vice-president of CSCE Luxembourg, knew well the man who tragically died, on the night of Saturday to Sunday, in a motorcycle accident on the A1: “I was his manager during his visit to club from 2009 to 2011 and also in the national youth team. The club is thinking about how to pay tribute to him.

Christian Olsen was his teammate in the national senior rugby team from 2013 to 2017. “Bob was a natural leader, he was a great person, he was always smiling. His death means a lot to me.”

His sudden disappearance at the age of 31 also leaves a great void within the fire brigade where he was employed as a professional and volunteer firefighter. “We will remember Bob as a warm, humorous and helpful colleague,” the CGDIS wrote on social media yesterday. A child of Weiler-la-Tour, Bob Wagner was also involved in local politics, as 1er Alderman of the locality since 2018.

He had just been “automatically re-elected” in the last elections, insofar as the municipality had fewer candidates on the lists than elected. In a press release, the municipality describes Bob Wagner as “a person whose contribution and work will continue to inspire respect”. The writing of The essential sends its sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of Bob Wagner.
