The Eowyn storm, which already crosses Ireland and the United Kingdom, gradually wins the French coast, Friday, January 24. Winds and precipitation intensifies.
Some French coast beaches are already swept by gusts of wind, Friday, January 24. Points at almost 100 km/h surge on the Opal Coast, where the sea is unleashed. But it is especially in Morbihan that the inhabitants are preparing for the effects of the Eowyn storm, which is already falling on Ireland and the United Kingdom. Gusts at 183 km/h were recorded in Ireland, a real record. For the first time in its history, the whole country is placed on a red alert. The Breton department is in Orange vigilance for rain and flood.
The intensity of this storm is explained by a temperature shock between a cold air from the United States and a warmer air, causing what is called a “meteorological bomb”. The winds that will blow in France will be less strong than in Ireland, but will be accompanied by very intense rains.
