While the Pixel 9 is just entering its first quarter of marketing, rumors are already going well about the next generation of mobile, and in particular about the Pixel 10a.
If you’re impatiently waiting for the Pixel 9a, know that this phone could be an even better deal than expected. Indeed, the phone could have a processor that even the next generation of phone would not change.
Android Authoritywhich has heard of Google’s 2025-206 plans for its range of Pixel phones, asserts that the Pixel 10a, not expected before mid-2026, could recycle the Tensor G4 for reasons of price.

Let’s put things in order a little. The Pixel 9a, a mid-range variant of Google’s star phones, should be released next March with a processor made by Samsung: the Tensor G4. The same one found in the Pixel 9 and 9 Pro. The A series at Google has always included the same processors as the high-end versions.
-This could therefore change with the Pixel 10a, expected for the first or second quarter of 2026. According to information from Android Authority, the mobile, barely in the prototyping phase, could reuse this Tensor G4 instead of moving to the G5 like the rest of the Pixel 10. The reason behind this choice would be the too high cost of this in-house processor.
The G5 would represent a significant generational leap for Google, in addition to being a chip entirely designed by the company and no longer built in collaboration with Samsung. But it would also be a very expensive chip, because it is stuffed to the core with semiconductors. To keep prices low, Google would therefore consider releasing a Pixel 10a with a Tensor G4. Enough to significantly lower the price of the phone, but also to deprive it of the latest innovations made in Mountain View.
A lower price to pass the pill?
This would represent a significant change in philosophy for Google and a significant concession for fans of the A series. It remains to be seen whether a lower price could possibly help the pill pass.

For this batch, Google would have adopted qualifiers relating to bears. The Pixel 11 Pro would thus be named “Grizzly”, the 11 “Cubs”, the Pro XL “Kodiak” and the Fold “Yogi”. For the rest of the features, you will probably have to wait a while.
