Charlie Dalin registered this Tuesday January 14, 2025 his name on the Vendée Globe winners list.

He crossed in winner the finish line, off the coast of Les Sables-d’Olonne, in the early morning, at exactly 8:24 a.m.

In passing, he achieved a great performance since he broke the record so far held by Armel Le Cléac’h in 74 days, 3 hours and 35 minutes.

A new record which therefore stands at 64 days 19 hours 22 minutes and 49 seconds !

Due to low tide, the skipper of the Imoca Macif could not return to port immediately after crossing the line.

It is therefore at the beginning of the afternoon, from 1:50 p.m., that he will truly be able to celebrate your victory with the public expected in large numbers at the edge of the mythical channel of Sables-d’Olonne.

The skipper approaches slowly but surely towards the channel, where an incredible crowd awaits him, under a blue sky! The moment promises to be magnificent for Charlie Dalin. The skipper has not disembarked since this morning, he has chosen to stay on his Imoca.

1:30 p.m.: Mathieu slept in his car to experience the arrival

“I arrived yesterday at midnight. I slept in my car. It’s for a good cause, for the arrival of the Vendée Globe and Charlie Dalin’s great victory. 1:15 p.m.: Les Sables prepares to welcome the hero of the day

Winner of the Vendée Globe, the skipper will enter the channel around 1:30 p.m. The atmosphere rises on the Quai de la Chaume to welcome him.
