Paramount+ disappearing, Netflix with essential advertising: Canal+ is shaking up its subscription formulas at the start of the year. A simplification that hides a few surprises…

Canal+ will increase its prices in January 2025 despite the withdrawal of several services. Here is the future price list
The basic offer is undergoing a significant transformation: now offered at €19.99 for six months (then €24.99), she says goodbye to Paramount+a service that is nevertheless very popular with subscribers.
This reduction of €5 compared to the previous price is accompanied by a promotional period divided by two: six months instead of twelve.
As for premium offers, Canal+ is playing the diversification card. The Ciné Séries offer (€29.99/month for six months, then €34.99) becomes one of only two plans to keep Paramount+ in its catalog. An exclusivity which is however accompanied bya Netflix version “with advertising”.
Non-binding offers
Perhaps the most significant changes concern no-commitment subscriptions. Exit Ultra HD and multi-user : these plans are now limited to a single simultaneous user, without access to HDR content. Canal clearly wants to push users towards offers with commitment.
Apple TV+ remains the big winner of this overhaul, present in all formulas. A strategic alliance that allows Canal+ to maintain a range of prestigious content, particularly with series like “Ted Lasso” or “The Morning Show”.

Apple Music arrives as a paid option on Canal+: 100 million titles available on TV, why isn't that interesting?
For young people, the Rat+ offers (under 26 years old) maintain their aggressive positioning at €19.99/month without commitment, whether in the Ciné Séries or Sport version.
