After the Spurs’ big victory against the Lakers last night, Victor Wembanyama took the time to greet JJ Redick’s children, present at the edge of the court. The Lakers coach lost his home a few days ago during the terrible fires in Los Angeles.

This is the beautiful image of the night!

Alongside Chris Paul, Wemby offered an unforgettable memory to JJ Redick’s two boys, whose daily life was turned upside down last week when their Pacific Palisades home went up in smoke.

In a post-match press conference, JJ Redick said it was CP3 who started the initiative.

“Chris Paul is like a brother. He called me during the afternoon. He told me, ‘No matter who wins tonight, we’ll give your boys our jerseys.’ He knows they love the NBA. They had a collection of signed basketball cards and jerseys that players left for them when they appeared on my podcast. They lost everything.

It was cool of them to do that. […] I’m not surprised Chris did something like that.”

For their first home match since the start of the fires last Tuesday, Redick’s Lakers were unable to win against the Spurs (126-102 defeat). But for once, despite the defeat, the Los Angeles coach was smiling at the final buzzer when he saw Wemby and CP3 with his two boys.
