Last Saturdaythe municipality of Gisorsa neighboring town in Oise, experienced a significant episode of flooding. The Epte River, in flood, caused significant material damage to several homes. But, in the face of adversity, a real collective mobilization was put in place to help the victims.
The response to the emergency
THE firefighters of SDIS 27 were on the front line facing this exceptional event. No less than 120 interventions were carried out during the day on Saturday. These actions mainly aimed to secure flooded areas, carry out reconnaissance among local residents and, as far as possible, dry out affected homes. Their presence was crucial to limit the impact of this rising water level and to reassure residents.
Relentless support for the Gisorsians
While the levels ofEpte are slowly starting to decrease, efforts continue to support residents in their return to normal. As of today, municipal services are coordinating aid missions for cleaning cellars and other flooded spaces. Residents also benefit from logistical support to transport the flood waste to the recycling center.
And toll free number remains available to report delicate situations, creating a direct link between residents, the town hall and the firefighters. This agreement between the different local actors illustrates exemplary crisis management.
A collective gratitude
Faced with this “extraordinary” event, the municipality wanted to salute the commitment of the firefighters as well as the responsiveness of municipal agents. Their rapid mobilization and dedication made it possible to limit the impacts of this flood and accelerate the return to normal. This episode will surely be engraved in the memory of Gisors residents as a testimony of solidarity and collective resilience.
The challenges ahead
Although the waters are gradually receding, the course of theEpte remains visually impressive with its tumultuous currents. Vigilance remains essential to prevent possible complications linked to future precipitation. This event also highlights the importance of anticipating and strengthening local infrastructure to deal with such climatic hazards.
