Mid-season pass, return of the Sunday Multiplex, further price reduction and now launch of a formula for under-26s. To restore its image, is the DAZN platform burning out its last cartridges?

DAZN launches its own “Rat+”

Money is often the crux of the matter and this is the reason why DAZN did not attract crowds during its debut as the official broadcaster of Ligue 1. Launched at 39.99 euros per month (without commitment), the subscription allowing you to watch eight of the nine weekly matches live caused a massive boycott of the platform, with several football fans preferring to attend the competition via indirect means.

Brice Daumin, boss of DAZN France, therefore announced during an interview with Parisian a new pricing strategy. First of all, the price of the Unlimited subscription will definitely remain at 19.99 euros per month and it will be like this when the championship resumes next summer.

Secondly, an offer of 10 euros per month without commitment will be launched in February for those under 26, like what Canal+ offers with its Rat+ offer. This formula is intended to last over time, unlike the Mid-Season Pass available until February 3.

In addition to the Sunday Multiplex which makes its return with two matches first, then three, a new talk show, In the Zonelaunches this evening with journalists and guests discussing the championship. Since December 15, a program presenting a summary of the day has been broadcast live and accessible free of charge on YouTube. Finally, all matches will now be covered and commented by three speakers.
