Mike McCarthy is no longer the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys.
McCarthy and the club failed to agree on the length of a new contract, leading the head coach to seek other opportunities, according to multiple media outlets. He is expected to be a candidate with the Chicago Bears and New Orleans Saints.
The Cowboys missed the playoffs in 2024 after finishing the season with a 7-10 record. McCarthy spent five seasons as head coach in Dallas, posting a 49-35 record and making the playoffs three times.
Prior to Dallas, McCarthy served as head coach of the Green Bay Packers from 2006 to 2018, going 125-77 and winning the Super Bowl in 2010.
