Throughout the departments of Burgundy-Franche-Comté and Grand-Est, the extreme cold alert is yellow due to a cold peak expected from tonight from Sunday to Monday and at the latest until midday Wednesday
Dry and cold weather is setting in over the North-Eastern regions and is expected to persist until the morning of Wednesday, with the night of
Monday to Tuesday which will be the coldest of this cold peak.
From this Monday 01/13 at 00 a.m., the cold peak which has already affected the Doubs department since this Sunday will extend to all of the
departments of the North-East with a consequent extension of yellow vigilance.
Monday morning, minimum temperatures will be between -7 and -3°C in the plains. Due to a North to North-East wind blowing in
average between 10 and 20 km/h, and up to 25 km/h in the Saône Valley, the minimum felt temperatures will often be between
between -11 and -7 in the plains, and up to -15 to -18 in the mountains.
Monday afternoon, maximum temperatures will reach 0 to 2°C in the plains while there is no thaw in the mountains. The wind of
North to North-East will continue to blow with gusts frequently reaching 30 to 50 km/h, causing temperatures felt
maximum between -5 and -1.
The night from Monday to Tuesday will be the coldest of the period, with minimum temperatures dropping to -9 to -4°C in the plains on Tuesday
at daybreak for temperatures felt between -12 and -7 in the plains, -18 to -15 in the mountains.
During the day on Tuesday, the wind will weaken a little, but maximum temperatures will peak between 0 and 3°C in the plains. Temperatures
maximum feelings will remain between -3 and 1.
Low clouds will arrive from the north of the Grand-Est in the evening of Tuesday then progress towards the south during the night from Tuesday to Wednesday. They
will limit the drop in nighttime temperatures in the north of the region.
In the other departments, the cold will remain present during the night from Tuesday to Wednesday with minimum temperatures Wednesday morning
between -7°C and -3°C, and minimum felt temperatures which will be between -8 and -4. A rise in temperatures will
place during the day on Wednesday in all departments, with felt temperatures which will become positive again, which
should allow a return to the green level for vigilance on Wednesday 15/01 at 12 p.m.
