Henry Cejudo vs. Song Yadong in preparation for UFC Seattle

Henry Cejudo enters his first fight of 2025 in a likely must-win situation.

Three people with knowledge of the promotion’s plans confirmed to MMA Fighting that a bantamweight bout between the former UFC champion and Song Yadong is in the works to headline UFC Seattle, which takes place on the 22nd. After stopping Dominick Cruz at UFC 249 in May 2020, Cejudo announced his retirement from the sport. “Triple C” returned at UFC 288 in May 2023 to challenge Aljamain Sterling for the 135-pound title where he dropped a split decision. Cejudo then faced now-champion Merab Dvalishvili at UFC 298 last February, where he dropped a one-sided decision.

Song has only competed once in 2024 and dropped a decision to former champion Petr Yan at UFC 299. Before that, the 27-year-old earned a stoppage victory over Ricky Simon, as well than a unanimous decision over Chris Gutierrez in the main event clashes.
