This Tuesday, January 7, Paris Jackson announced that she had been sober for five years. A milestone that the young woman proudly celebrated on her Instagram account.

January 7 is a special day for Paris Jackson. Five years ago, the daughter of singer Michael Jackson stopped all alcohol and heroin consumption. This Tuesday, January 7, 2025, she proudly celebrates this new stage.

On her Instagram account, the 26-year-old shared a video montage, showing her drinking, smoking, crying. The publication is accompanied by a poignant text, looking back on Paris Jackson’s journey and battle against her addictions. “Today, I have been sober from all drugs and alcohol for 5 years. To say I’m grateful would be a poor understatement. It’s because I’m sober that I can smile today. I can make music. I can experience the joy of loving my dogs and my cat. I can feel grief in all its glory. I can cry. I can laugh. I can dance,” she wrote.

In the second part of the video, we can see all the sobriety tokens, coins that addicted people receive as they progress. We also see the model smiling, dancing, having fun and reliving: “Here’s a little glimpse of what was possible thanks to my sobriety, and my God, I can’t believe I almost blew it . THANKS. 7 – 01 – 2020.” At the end of the video, she sends a touching message of thanks to her loved ones, and to her fiancé, Justin Long: “For those who helped me on this journey, may it simply be beginning, middle or for its entirety, you know who you are and I owe you my life. THANKS. »

In her Instagram story, she shared a snapshot of her token received for her five years of abstinence. The latter represents a phoenix, which embodies rebirth and resurrection.
