Google’s Pixel 4a, support for which ended a few months ago, will benefit from an exceptional update to correct a major problem with the smartphone.
The Google Pixel 4a is a mid-range smartphone from Google released in 2020 for which support ended with the arrival of Android 13. Today, we learned that Google is about to launch a new exceptional update for the smartphone aimed at correcting a problem linked to its batteryreports Android Police.
A performance problem
Google teams indicate on their blog that they noticed that a software update was necessary to improve stable battery performance Pixel 4a. This update to Android 13 will be deployed automatically from January 8, 2025. However, it presents a problem.
On certain smartphone models, this update will be beneficial for the longevity of the smartphone, but could reduce battery capacity available while affecting charging performance. Fortunately, the Google teams have thought of solutions.
In case of problems
Users affected by these issues will be able to benefit from several solutions compensation. The first consists of a free replacement battery of the smartphone. However, this option seems for the moment reserved for certain countries, of which France is not yet one. Other solutions include a 50 dollar refund (its equivalent in euros) or a 100 dollar discount for the purchase of a new Pixel.
