The Croatian Zrinka Ljutic dominated the first round of the slalom in Kranjska Gora (Slovenia) on Sunday, counting for the Alpine Skiing World Cup, ahead of the Swiss Wendy Holdener and Camille Rast.
Holdener, the first to start, set the bar very high by setting a reference time of 50 seconds 82/100. In the process, with bib N.2, Ljutic was credited with the same time and the two skiers watched, without being worried, following the race of their competitors unable to dislodge them.
The Croatian confirmed her good start to the season: after her slalom victory in Semmering (Germany) last weekend, she approached the upper part of the course with caution before finishing the race with a bang, but not enough to overtake Holdener. Rast, 4th in the Semmering slalom, ranked third in the first round, 32/100 behind the co-leaders.
Marie Lamure 10e
In the absence of the American Mikaela Shiffrin, the queen of giant slalom, and the Slovak Petra Vlohva, eyes were focused on the Swede Sara Hector, who had crushed the giant the day before.
