The two men suspected of having injected compressed air into the rectum of one of their colleagues were to be tried by the Charleville-Mézières court (Ardennes) from Monday. But as France 3 Grand Est reports, their trial was postponed until June. Defense lawyers made the request so they could subpoena the company.
As a reminder, the events took place in October 2023 within the company AFS Sedan, specialized in the production of tools for the steel industry. The two suspects allegedly injected compressed air into the rectum of one of their colleagues with a pneumatic compressor. The 30-year-old was seriously injured and still suffers from serious injuries today.
They risk up to five years in prison
The two employees involved were dismissed by their company following this incident. The company also filed a complaint, as did the victim and her family. An investigation into intentional violence in a meeting, followed by mutilation or permanent disability, was immediately opened. But the charge of mutilation and permanent infirmity was ultimately not accepted, note our colleagues.
