Investigators rule out the possibility of the intervention of a third party. Found dead on Sunday January 5 in an agricultural pond in Beaupréau, north of (Maine-et-), young Justine would have gone into the water alone, probably in the hope of helping her dog. This 24-year-old student who lived in the town had gone for a walk with her Jack Russell on paths that she knows well, her farmer parents being owners of part of the land.

The trail of a fox is considered by the investigators, who believe in the accidental theory. “The fox had been drowned in this basin for a longer time,” explains the prosecutor to 20 Minutes. According to the magistrate, the dog “fell into the water while trying to catch it”.

She had taken off her clothes and tied a rope

Registered at the University of , the young student returned to her parents for the holidays, specifies France 3 Limousin. On January 3, she went to walk her Jack Russell around her parents’ house. “There is no intervention from a third party,” assures the magistrate. In all likelihood, the young woman would have crossed the fence surrounding the body of water in order to rescue her dog. She would have voluntarily gone into the water, taking the time to remove her clothes and leave a rope to which the leash was attached “which was undoubtedly to help her get back up”, specifies the prosecutor. She will not succeed and will lose her life.
