A theft with a laughable modus operandi. Saturday January 4, in the Estroulhas sector, the owner of a vehicle was surprised to find her front quarter window broken. Inside, her iPhone but also her purse were stolen. The latter decides to notify the police and file a complaint at the Puy-en-Velay police station.
Geolocation, cloud photo and identification
The next day, Sunday January 5, the victim managed to geolocate his iPhone and especially the thief. He took a photo of his foot without meaning to. The photo ended up on the complainant’s cloud. A clue which will be decisive for the rest of the investigation. She alerts the investigators who succeed in identifying a suspect.
It was in a homeless shelter that a 64-year-old man was arrested by the police. During the search carried out, the victim’s personal effects were not found but the famous pair of shoes was indeed present. Placed in police custody, the sixty-year-old allegedly denied the theft. He would still have admitted to being in the sector at the time of the events.
He was referred this Tuesday morning and is awaiting a criminal response from the prosecution.
